BridgeForward Mentorship

BridgeForward connects UCF engineering and STEM students with NSBE CFP’s network of working professionals through structured mentor matching. Each cohort takes part in monthly professional-development sessions, one-on-one career conversations, resume and interview coaching, industry exposure, and regular goal-setting check-ins — building a repeatable pipeline from college into internships, first jobs, and long-term professional relationships.

NSBE CFP Emerging Engineers Scholarship

The NSBE CFP Emerging Engineers Scholarship supports active UCF NSBE members committed to excellence in engineering and academics. NSBE Central Florida Professionals awards four $500 scholarships each year to eligible sophomores, juniors, and seniors at the University of Central Florida who are active, dues-paying NSBE members in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. Applicants submit a current resume, unofficial transcript, and required essay (a letter of recommendation is optional); graduating seniors must be on track to graduate in Spring 2027. Applications are due September 25th at 11:59pm EST, winners are announced in early October, and funds are disbursed for the Fall semester. Questions can be directed to nsbe.cfp.college@gmail.com.

Youth STEM Outreach

SkillBridge STEM Academy

SkillBridge is a hands-on weekend program for high school students covering engineering design, CAD/3D modeling, electronics, coding, data literacy, technical communication, and workplace readiness. Every cohort finishes with a team capstone project, presented live to working STEM professionals, giving students practical exposure to engineering pathways before college.

Junior Engineer Day

Junior Engineer Day is a school-based outreach event where NSBE CFP’s working engineers bring their jobs to life for kids through interactive, hands-on activities — bridge-building challenges, circuits and sensors, coding, aerospace demos, materials testing, and design challenges. Between activities, students hear directly from engineers about what the job actually looks like and how to start down that path themselves.

STEM Discovery Week

STEM Discovery Week is an intensive four-day experience combining hands-on experiments, engineering design projects, professional mentoring, and visits to real engineering or technology facilities. Each day centers on a different STEM theme, mixing instruction, experimentation, teamwork, and reflection, building to a culminating project where students tackle a real-world challenge and present their solution.

Community Service

Thanksgiving Table Kits

Thanksgiving Table Kits provides young adults who have aged out of foster care with practical, easy-to-cook meal baskets during the holiday season. Each basket includes shelf-stable foods, meal staples, and simple step-by-step recipes, so a comforting holiday meal is possible even with a bare-bones kitchen and little cooking experience.

Deck The Halls Toy Drive

Deck The Halls Toy Drive combines a community toy drive with direct purchasing to make sure every child gets something new to open — including the older kids and teens who are consistently under-donated during the holidays. NSBE CFP partners with established youth-serving organizations to identify needs and distribute gifts where they’ll matter most.

Signature Events

Innovators’ Gala

The Innovators’ Gala is a charity gala and silent auction fundraiser held during National Engineers Week, on Saturday, February 27, 2027. The evening brings together NSBE, SHPE, and other local engineering societies from across Central Florida for a cocktail reception, plated dinner, virtual silent auction, and awards ceremony recognizing outstanding engineers and their contributions to the community.
